Bogota II

Well, more pics as I promised.

A street intersection next to Simon Bolivar Park (see top left), the biggest metropolitan park in South America (Source: www.inbogota.com/transporte/index.htm)

Actually, over 7 million. (Source: www.jca.apc.org/~kmasuoka/places/col189.html)

A stormy day in Bogota. Rain is somehow frequent, but not this way! The white spots on the floor are hail, not snow (Source: Wikipedia)

Bogota

Now I'm taking two part-time jobs. One of them consists in compiling all news articles about human development in Bogota from nine of the most important magazines and newspapers in Colombia, from 2003 to 2005. So I'd like to share some images of my city, the 8 million inhabitants Colombian capital (look its location at Google maps).
Colpatria, the highest building in Bogota (and in Colombia). 190 m

San Victorino Plaza, downtown. The blue sculpture was made by Colombian artist Enrique Grau. The place was recovered from illegal clothing sellers in recent years and now it can be enjoyed by everyone. You can also see the Monserrate Hill, and its traditional cathedral on the top.

A view of Central-Eastern Bogota (downtown). On the left, Monserrate Hill and its cathedral. On the right, the Guadalupe Hill.

Historical center (downtown)

If one you watched Mr and Mrs Smith, now you can see they didn't show you the real thing... More photos later...

Oh, this is Japan...

Japan is the only country in the world, as long as I know, where they can make a toilet training trailer this way (and I'm sure it was successful!). It shows that Japanese people really lack some needless shameful feelings. And it's a lot of fun, too!
